2. Magura claims that the Marta SL is the lightest hydraulic mountain bike brake available. Personally, we didnt give a crap about the estwe just cared that it was light as hell, and at 324 grams for the lever, line, caliper, and rotor combined, we were blown away. The how is no mystery: one look at the Marta SLs woven carbon-fiber lever and solid machined-aluminum dual-piston caliper and you know where the weight came off. And if youre as wary of super-svelte components as we are, prepare to sing a different tune. While its definitely not for DH, the Marta SL offers superb modulation, fade-free stopping power, and beef aplenty for the majority of cross-country riders.
